A grave situation

Vandyke cemetary, on the east side of Leighton Buzzard, has small areas of habitat in amidst the mown sections. This was my first Small Copper of the year ! A few days ealier, and my only Holly Blue for the county so far this year was observed, though not photographed.

Maulden Woods

At last - a fine, sunny day, with 13 species of butterfly and 81 individuals.

There were plenty of Speckled Wood to be seen:



Meadow Brown abound:



Peacock



Only 2 Holly Blue were seen

There were a few butterflies on the wing today, including this confiding Small Copper.
